| Bio: | General Information Name: Joshua “Josh” Foley Codename: Elixir Age: 19 Powers Description of Powers: Josh has the power of healing by touch. He himself isn’t aware of exactly what he can heal or cannot; he doesn’t know what the limits are. He is aware that he can lay his hands on someone and they will be fixed, and he isn’t sure how much more he wants to know. Josh may be able to heal mortal wounds, but even if it’s true, he still really, really doesn’t want to know about it. When utilizing his healing ability, Josh’s skin tints to a golden color. Skills Power Strength: 10 Power Control: 4 Strength: 5 Dexterity: 6 Constitution : 8 Intelligence: 6 Wisdom: 4 Charisma : 7 Appearance Brief Description: Josh isn’t terribly tall, but he’s well-put together. He has dark blond hair and a thin, serious face. He dresses well and takes care to look presentable. He likes to try and look like he’s worth more than he actually is; dressing up a rung on the class ladder. After all, that’s where his family should be. Personality Quirks/Habits: drums his fingers against various surfaces, including his leg if necessary, when impatient; has a tendency to hang back and watch rather than participate; won’t always people in the eye Likes: Soft music; the outdoors; modern art; being active Dislikes: crowded dancefloors; post-modernism in general; too-nice people; people that are too noticeably different Phobias/Fears: Change; letting down his family; being different Extrovert/Introvert: Reserved currently fits him well – so closer to the latter option. Background Brief Personal History: Josh grew up in a secure family household. While his parents were middle-class, they always tried to get that little bit higher on the social ladder, and they wanted to do it by surpassing the usual “Keeping Up With the Joneses” deal: instead, they decided to blame everyone keeping them from their perfect American Dream. After all, it was everyone else’s fault, wasn’t it? In other words, Josh has been raised in a family of bigots. As such, he’s very used to “community groups” centered around white pride, or anti-immigration, anti-gay, anti-mutant, and over and over: his parents are both heavily involved in these causes and Josh has barely had time to question them; your parents are never wrong about these things, are they? As Josh got older, he joined in the demonstrations, took up the cause. After all, he needed to help his family had the status they deserved. And mutants really were evil, he’d heard. And everyone else that was different couldn’t be trusted – right? So Josh followed along, and if he thought about the wrong things he ignored them, and if he felt sympathy for someone they targeted he ignored it, and subsequently? Josh has become very good at ignoring spikes of emotion and, for the most part, even compassion. It was actually at an anti-mutant rally (disgustingly ironic, Josh thinks) when it happened: a girl fell, and Josh heard the snap of bone. He usually wouldn’t stop to help, but in a moment of weakness he put his hands on her to help her up – and he flashed gold, and she could stand. Could walk. And Josh ran. He hid until his skin turned back to normal, thank god, and he took himself home, judging questions about his disappearance from his parents. Ever since then Josh has been quieter, more reserved. He knows he’s exactly what his parents hate – what he hates – and no one can ever know. He’s careful and quiet and when Xavier’s letter arrived, it was exactly the distraction and distance he needed – and he’d wanted to go back to school anyway after finishing high school – so he quickly took up the offer. He figures now that if he’s careful, no one will ever have to know anything about his mutant power or alternative – anything. Social Room 33 Suite: 11 | ||||||||||
